From the Vault again

A classic! This one was being sold on EBay as belly dance costume (as if!). People try anything to sell and 'belly dance' seems a label they love to put to their items:

Costume made of Scraps

Another golden oldie....

At first it doesn't look that bad, but take a look: cheap trims at the arm thingies, kind of plastic like chiffon for sleeves and a mish mash of colors on the bra

But it gets worse! You need a moment to take this in: the ramdom plastic looking rhinestones, the green plastic beaded string around the roses, the plastic golden fringe and that trim at the top...

Looks like the dancer fell over into a bucket of random objects

Costume Holiday

As you might have noticed I haven't posted any costumes lately, that's because I was on holiday. I got some new ones! This is the beauty for today:

Is it me, or does the mannequin have an unhealthy shape?

Of course this is a well made costume, but why not use a nice fabric?

It's a pity this picture doesn't show up better: because this one is a gem!

OK, I got some left over fabrics...

Can I turn them into a costume? Yes you can (no this is not an unfortunate student costume, but an item from EBay):

Design by Klaire

This gem was designed by Klaire:

I fused Tribal with ugly for this costume. (Unfortunately, I wasn't that creative in my design. I was inspired by other dancers I've seen in real life and online. I just put them all together for maximum ugly)

I'm afraid I have seen things like this FOR REAL!

Peacock

First of all I never understand the use of peacock feathers, they will break off or get messed up after a while. But this does not only have feathers, it also got cheap trim, plastic fringe and some left over rhinestones. It will look ok from a distance though I think.
