Lingerie Straps

Why oh why... Have the straps not be replaced, I'm not even commenting on the rest of the design, just the lingery straps that have been even left with the clasps to adjust them. Covering them with space sequins isn't going to change that problem.

Costume made of Scraps

Another golden oldie....

At first it doesn't look that bad, but take a look: cheap trims at the arm thingies, kind of plastic like chiffon for sleeves and a mish mash of colors on the bra

But it gets worse! You need a moment to take this in: the ramdom plastic looking rhinestones, the green plastic beaded string around the roses, the plastic golden fringe and that trim at the top...

Have we seen this before?

Remember those weird costumes from a few days ago, this is another one we can add to that theme....Again one of those mistakes that's easy to fix, but what where they thinking in the first place!?

This is pretty sure not a serious costume but tongue in cheek

Leftovers?

$175 and this 'beauty' is yours...
But, it could really work for a bellydance-clown.

Zebra

Here is a costume to provoke your thoughts:

Daimona From Orientaldancer.net had some ideas:

Things I would do to make this costume more to my taste:
1) Move all the eye dots on the bra to the other side of the bra than the drape more or less parallel to the edge continuing the line of the drape into and S-shape (no more crossed eye effect).
2) I'm not too sure about the beige/goldish beading along the edge of the bra. I see they designer are trying to repeat some of the colors in the zebra. Maybe use red along one of the boobs and silver along the edge of the other.
3) I'm not too fond of the circle cut-outs, so either make the gauntlet more fitted by the wrist or make it as short as the other upper arm band.
4) Add some more red draped beads (is this what one may call swag?) on the skirt as well as 5 or 7 eyed dots at the buttom (sparkle farts!).
5) Add a beige or red veil and red nail polish.

I agree,  also two non matching arm things is a bit busy for that fabric. This sort of fabric kind of easily overtakes the dancer, so less is more I think, I can see it working as totally non embellished except for the flower on the hip (and maybe the bra flower) as accent, so really minimalist (and ditch the arm things)

What Do You Think?

The bra is ok, although the coins on the edge of the bra, maybe not, the belt just has a too weird shape, it doesn't match the bra

What do these costumes have in common?

Old ones, but still very funny, seriously what were they thinking?

Someone in a belly dance forum mentioned that the triangle looks like some sort of merkin... (Do not Google that!)

Frills

Some crazy frillyness again, I don't think this fashion is going to stay long, it's a bit over the top. I do like subtle frilly edges though, like at the edge of a split of a skirt, but not an overdose like this

Maybe a bit clunky, but not bad! Only issue I can see is an accident with the long strands on the arms, they can tangle or whack the face.

Stars & Stripes

This was not meant seriously, this was make by a belly dancer on purpose :) it's the same costume posted a few years ago but with a belly dance skirt.

Overdone?

Too much? I don't like the big circle thingies on the belt, they are too big. Somehow I don't like the rest either. I can't pinpoint why though. What so you think?

Green and Purple

$1000 for this costume (it's new, but being sold as vintage), love the colours I must say

It has very heavy beading, double row:

But I find the stones a bit clunky. It doesn't come with skirt or accessories, so I guess the price is steep

Metal Velvet Skirt

I have never seen this sort of fabric before, it's apparently called metal velvet. I think it can work really well with the right costume, imagine the shimmer under stage light? That's would be amazing! Only thing that's not nice in this skirt is the wrinkly bit on the bum, such a shame. But that could be covered with a scarf with a belt on top.
